The day only started when Aster decided to take a long walk on the street, to scan for things she could possibly get for the girl– it had been something she wanted to do for a while. Only then did the floral kiosk caught her attention, all the colours of the flowers just decided to grow invisible hands and pull her towards them. Fascinated, one could say. All the pink roses wrapped in pretty brown papers, she couldn’t just pick one out of the bunch, which caused her, somehow, to buy all they had to offer.

With the flowers in her hands, Aster slipped a free hand in her pocket just to check whether the thing she had purchased earlier was still there, an important thing, not to mention. Content with all the things she had gotten for the redhead, the girl continued to walk down the street, just to stop at the other’s house, feeling her excitement growing more and more by each minute. Needless to say, the smile on her face was as bright as ever.

As soon as she arrived, she gave the door three good knocks as she stood there and waited like a little kid being told by his parent to not wander off in other places, puffing out her cheeks as her anticipation grows. When the door finally opened, Aster beamed her a sweet smile. “Good morning, happy Valentine’s day!” Without wasting time, she handed her the many ‘bouquets’ of pink roses, even all of them combined, they didn’t look as sweet as the girl she was looking at.

“I don’t know what people usually give to others on this day, but I saw these and I thought of you. It’s a special day so I wanted to give something to a special person.” She admitted, her cheeks burning brighter red as she shifted her feet rather nervously. “Oh, I almost forgot.” With that, she pulled out a small blue jewellery box from her pocket, containing a ring she picked out inside. “Have an amazing day, Soojung.”

Valentine’s Day was a different day for Soojung: it was the day for sleeping late. Fortunately, the day managed to fell, this year, on the day previous to the weekend, and there was nothing that could keep her from sleeping - the romantic dates at the Café and the perfect atmosphere she always tried to set upon the place was reserved to the evening, and the mermaid wasn’t really in the mood to wake up early to deliver roses just because Sebastian was in the mood to set up a mood on the costumers; bed was the best for her - but she wasn’t counting with the subtle sound she had heard at 8 in the morning.

At first, being the heavy sleeper when it comes to actually sleeping in a bed as she is, the mermaid thought it would only be a dream. But technically, it wasn’t a free day for many people, and there was a slight chance it could be something or someone important and that was the thought that made her kick her laziness away and stand up with a groan, before lazily start to drag her body towards the door.

There wasn’t much preparation when she opened the door: as soon as she did so, a very familiar female started talking, big smile as always placed on her delicate features. All the blood on the red-haired’s body seemed to rush up and to her face, tinting the pale skin with one or two darker shades.

Very surprised, and a little numb, was the way she took the bouquet offered to her; her crimson strands falling as she bobbed her head in a polite and rather graceful, so common for her, bow but the smile covering her lips was an embarrassed one. “Aster…” She tried to start, chewing on the soft skin of her lips but before she could mutter any other words, the other started speaking and her words were sweeter than any other ever pronounced to her and truth to be told, a heartbeat was skipped upon this girl’s actions.

Forgotten politeness and her shame about being caught only with her long and grandma-like nightgown, a truthful smile stretched the Little Mermaid’s reddish lips, and her as like scarlet went up, hand reaching down to take the box. Soojung wasn’t very fond of jewelry - the only things like that she’d use on her days were a recent gift from an ol’ man and they couldn’t even be considered jewelry exactly - but as the present was in her hands, it was easily slipped on her ring finger, so being worthy of its name.

“I hope that means we’re valentines now.” The red-haired said, a few minutes later of quiet work, and soon the bouquet was gone from her hands and instead of this, a flower crown lied between her hands. Pink, delicate, worthy for a princess - Soojung was glad Aster had ordered them without thorns, because they made a beautiful tiara, so much better than any other that the curious mermaid princess had done on all her years under the Sea, or at the Prince’s Court. And it seemed perfect as handed out to the taller girl, shy smile playing on the shorter’s lips. “And here’s for you, Star Princess. Pink will look great with these cheeks of yours.”
