“Soojung-ah! I have a surprise for you. Don’t ask me anything, just—” he stopped to offer her a hand and make a quick gesture to make her come out of her workplace immediately. It wasn’t easy to get her out of there – oh, those stubborn ways only made the date more confusing to the already lost boy. “Yaah, what are you doing? Can’t you see I’m working and—”

Taemin interrupted the girl taking one of her hands and pressing a single white rose against her palm. Curling his hands around her fingers to tighten their grip around the flower, he nodded and looked at her piercing eyes. “Shh. The florist noona said that white flowers are good to cheer people up, and calm their hearts down. You’ve been ignoring me these days, so I got worried and decided to buy you this, and take you on a romantic dinner too. Girls love romantic things, don’t they?” He said with a solemn expression, which soon was replaced by a smiley one. “Let’s go, or we’re going to lose our reservations!” He said in a hurry, pushing the girl softly towards the door.

It was that time of the year again. At that time of the year - precisely these two damned days - nothing would work out well for Soojung. Even after years, decades, at least a century or any other way of counting something she had lost the count of so many years ago, the memory of the day she gave her first steps as a human would remain the same.

It would always get her thinking, pondering about the past and not being able to let go, even if she claimed that it had happened a lot ago - at least only about that it seemed easy to lie about.

Not even work - her sanctuary - had gotten her head out of the thoughts, eyes always wandering away from costumers, making her get orders and numbers wrong, and even imagine things that weren’t there. As the boy, waving at her from outside the café. She knew that boy - and it was impossible for him to be there right now, but at the waving continued, it was impossible for her to ignore and think of it just as one more trick of her obsessed mind.

As he stepped inside her work place, she walked over to the boy, frown showing her confusion and eyes focused on him ignoring the gaze that she could be getting from anyone, but when she spoke, sentence was broken before it could be finished and the mermaid looked down with brows raised and eyes widen as a flower was pushed into her hands.

“Taemin, what are you—” She started, confusion only growing. His explanation made her shut up and purse her lips, as a grimace took over her expression. She wasn’t in the mood to go out, or think on romance, especially that she was still on her shift, but the boy was being so sweet that her insides couldn’t help but soften up.

Letting out a sigh and shaking her head at his desperation, the red-haired girl first got rid of his hold on her, then pushed the flower back to him. “At least let me warn my boss, I’m not a little trouble maker like you.” She muttered, before rushing to take off the apron characteristic of her job, and handing it over to her manager, who were staring at her with narrowed eyes.

“Don’t look at me like this, Sebastian, you know I’m being dragged.” The mermaid explained to the man, lips curling into a soft pout; which gladly, was enough to make her boss roll his eyes and wave her off, and then she was available to whatever the bartender had in mind. No, she wasn’t completely sure of that or if it was good, but since it was coming from Taemin - who had saved her a couple of times already - she knew it couldn’t be so bad….right?

Still, another sigh, one that showed how defeated she was right now left her red lips as she stepped outside to meet the male, hand wrapping around the rose previously given to her once again, the other slipping inside her coat to keep away from any touch that could surprise her.

“You made a reservation? Where? I hope you know I won’t let you pay the bill by your own.” She questioned, bored tone and air covering her even if she tried her best to hide it for him to not feel so bad about it - but Soojung wasn’t feeling in the right mood to cover things up like this and well, there was nothing she could do about it anymore but at least try to pay some attention on him.
