“Don’t go.”

The youngest red-haired immediately stopped, high heels not even touching the ground as her head turned back to face the covered in white woman. “Yes, doctor?” She asked, raising her eyebrows, hands still holding the tray with used gauze, and some left-overs lints.

It was just once the patient left - jumping off the bed and waving the curtains that divided the different cubicles on the ER - just then the mermaid rested her feet on the ground, heaving out a sigh and stretching her lips in a quite tired smile. “Do you need something, unnie? I think I will go get some coffee.”

"They’re taking me away. This is goodbye."

“They’re taking me away. This is goodbye.”

Her perfect eyebrows arched together, and her eyes were cold though the other’s were glassy and wet. It had been a little while, no longer than a week since they haven’t spoken, but Jihyun could notice how cold her sister’s heart had grew and it was her fault, not Soojung’s.

Soojung remained just the same, standing there straight and looking down at the other - so different from the other Soojung of the other days, when she’d beam at the oldest and hug her ‘till she was out of breath, but immensely happy to see that the mermaid was still there, and she still had that innocent gaze in her eyes.

That gaze was now gone, and the oldest knew it had been her fault because her eyes said everything, but also the words that came out of her lips, a few days ago. She never wanted her to know like this - by a dumb costumer from the oldest’s alliance, babbling about a red-haired doctor - and Soojung wasn’t dumb, she was stubborn, and she didn’t care, and the stubbornness and the innocence twisted everything, accusing the witch, and one of her best friends to be a cold blood murderer, just like all the others she had met and fought against.

(A liar, a liar that just wanted to break her heart once again with more and more lies - pretending to be her friend, setting her up with the guy that had broken her heart - everything Jihyun said were just lies, and Soojung didn’t know if she could cope with that.)

“Why are you telling me this?” It was what the mermaid managed to let out, almost as a whisper, weaker than she had imagined in her head. The oldest frowned, and tried to reach out for her, but Soojung shook her head and took some steps back, entering her work place once again, but not before shoot her a burning glare; when she spoke, her voice was louder, and firmer than she thought that could ever be. “I don’t care what you do anymore, Katherine. Just go.”

And then she left the witch blinking away her tears, the other’s gaze burning her harder as if she was on the stick. Soojung didn’t look back, and quickly rushed to the kitchen before disappearing by that door, a hand clutching her chest tightly and the other covering her lips, desperately muffling a sob.

Jijung, of course! ( ´coughs, before muttering in a very soft tone) your prince too, actually. ( ´she smiles, pretending that nothing was actually said.)

{ ` ; she giggles at the first one, amused that the ship name she had created, joining their names, was actually good and okay to the always serious doctor - but the smile she has hovering her lips soon fades at the second opinion, expression crumbling quicker than she had ever thought it would be possible. the mermaid only nods, sucking in her bottom lip and pretending as if she hadn’t heard anything, it would be better to at least pretend. }
